LAFAYETTE, GA (WDEF) — The city of Lafayette is kicking off an event that’s been a yearly tradition since 2017.

Lafayette becomes a hive of activity for the honeybee Festival, which takes over downtown.

People swarm to see the vendors, the kids activities, and the musical acts.

Plus, there will be a ton of food trucks to keep you fed while you’re walking around.

Jim Powell Chairman of Lafayette Honeybee Festival told us, “It’s been amazing. It’s helped the town tremendously and in the meantime it’s brought a lot of attention to the town. A lot of people move in businesses are coming to town, but we’ve also been able to renovate a lot of the downtown area. We’re seeing a lot of new growth from that and even walking trails and some just some great activities areas for kids for youth so it’s just it’s been a great part of our community, a great asset.”

The musical acts include Shane Proffitt, Channing Wilson, and headliner The Band Perry.

The Honeybee Festival is taking place rain or shine, so make sure you pack an umbrella. Gates open at 9AM on Saturday.
