Wanted 30-year-old arrested following equipment violation stop, methamphetamine found

SCOTTSBORO — A wanted 30-year-old has been arrested following an equipment violation stop where methamphetamine was found.

According to the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD), on June 30,2026 at approximately 8:18p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation in the area of Willow Street and Tupelo Pike.

They say during the stop, officers identified the driver as Uriel Becerra Martinez, who was found to have an active warrant through the Scottsboro Police Department.

Following his arrest, officers located approximately 3.3 grams of methamphetamine.

Additional narcotics were later discovered on Martinez’s person, including approximately 1.8 grams of suspected synthetic marijuana (spice).

Martinez was transported to the Scottsboro City Jail for processing before being transferred to the Jackson County Jail.

Martinez has been charged with the following:

Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
Possession of Controlled Substance (Spice)
