Chattanooga Zoo celebrates 10th annual Ice Cream Safari

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Families spent the afternoon enjoying frozen treats and animal encounters as the Chattanooga Zoo hosted the 10th annual Ice Cream Safari.

The popular summer event gave guests the opportunity to enjoy unlimited ice cream and popsicles while exploring zoo exhibits and participating in special activities.

The frozen fun was not limited to visitors. Several zoo animals also received enrichment treats, including popsicles and other icy snacks designed to help them stay cool during the summer heat.

Jake Cash, Director of Communications for the Chattanooga Zoo, said the event continues to be one of the zoo’s most popular annual traditions.

“It’s a nice summer afternoon and evening where you can come to the zoo and eat as much ice cream as you want. It’s kind of the best day at the zoo ever. We call it the sweetest event of the summer. Between the unlimited popsicles and ice cream and seeing all your zoo animal friends, it’s a really fun time for people of any age.”

Cash said the event attracts a wide variety of guests, from families and couples to individuals enjoying a day at the zoo on their own.

Organizers said Ice Cream Safari continues to be one of the zoo’s signature summer events, bringing together animals, education, and plenty of sweet treats.
