Hamilton County corrections officer indicted

Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – A Hamilton County Grand Jury indicted Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Officer Daniel Hendrix on a charge of misdemeanor assault Thursday.

He was arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail.

He’s now been released on bond.

The charge stems from an altercation with inmate Leslie Hayes back in August as he was delivering her to Silverdale-CCA.

Sheriff Hammond stated, “The HCSO takes all allegations of misconduct seriously. We have followed the judicial process and presented our investigation to the Grand Jury and henceforth, they have returned a True Bill.”

Hendrix will be put on administrative leave without pay pending the conclusion of the judicial process and the conclusion of the Internal Affairs Investigation.
