UPDATE: Hamilton County burglary in progress call

UPDATE: The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says one suspect from Tuesday’s burglary in progress call is in custody.

Deputies found 25-year-old Sylvester Clifton Kirkwood Jr. after a citizen reported a stranger on his back porch.

He was taken into custody without incident.

He’s charged with aggravated burglary.

Deputies continue to look for the other suspect.

Ooltewah, TN (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office had to put some local schools on lock out while searching for two burglary suspects on Tuesday.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress call on Spinmaker Cove.

The home owner found an unknown vehicle backed up to his home.

He used his own vehicle to block the car in.

Two suspects came out of the house, got in their car, and rammed the victim’s vehicle.

During this the victim says the driver was pointing a gun at him.

The suspects were trying to drive away, but their vehicle got stuck in the driveway.

Both suspects then ran away.

Deputies searched the area trying to find them, but could not.

Nearby schools returned to normal security measures.

The suspects are described as one being slim to medium build and the other had a large build.

One was also wearing a red shirt.
