Elderly man rescued by the Chattanooga Fire Department from overnight fire

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m., the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) responded to an overnight fire, saving an elderly male’s life.

According to CFD, firefighters responded to the Rosemont Apartments on Glenwood Parkway.

When they arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames visible on the second floor.

Citizens communicated to first responders that one person was trapped in the apartment that was burning.

Firefighters went in and rescued the elderly male, bringing him down and out of the apartment.

He was checked out by HCEMS due to complaints of minor smoke inhalation, however he denied transportation to the hospital.
