“Floss-Cutting” Ceremony at Tennessee River Dental

CHATANOOGA, TN.- The University of Tennessee expands their school of dentistry to Chattanooga, with their Restorative Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary Program. 

Tennessee River Dental hosted a “Floss cutting Ceremony to mark the significant milestone for oral healthcare and workforce development.

For the first time, the UT’s College of Dentistry will offer its Restorative EFDA course in Southeast Tennessee

This will allow for advanced dental workforce training opportunities directly to our community. 

“The average increase in production and what that means is how many patients can we get into an office every day with one EFTA personnel expanded function personnel increase from 15 to 45% in production.” says Dr. Jerry Mckinney, Director of EFDA program. 

By expanding the number of  dental professionals available, this will not only improve access to oral healthcare in Southeast Tennessee, but throughout our state.
