We Honor Some Of Our Own Today At WDEF News 12

Chattanooga (WDEF) WDEF News 12 honored several service milestones at the annual employee luncheon on Tuesday.

The highlight was the announcement that UTC professor Booker T. Scruggs, II is stepping down from Point of View after 44 years.

Maurice Lewis will take over the longest running public service show in the world at the end of the year.

Booker told us that he was recruited off the street in 1971 by Carter Patten of the Adult Education Council.

He had worked on the radio at WNOO before that.

Booker’s first guest was the Rev. Paul McDaniel from 2nd Baptist Church talking about the relevance of the church in 1971.
