Suspect shoots at Chattanooga officers

UPDATE: Officials say that a Chattanooga officer was doing a routine patrol near the 800 of North Holtzclaw Avenue Thursday night when a black Chevy Traverse swerved at the officer.

The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused and fled.

During the pursuit, the suspect fired a gun from the vehicle at police officers.

No officer discharged their weapon during the incident.

The suspect’s vehicle was involved in a single car crash on New York Avenue.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect had significant injuries from the crash and was taken to a local hospital.

There’s no information about the suspect at this time.

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police say they have the suspect in custody who shot at officers Thursday night.

Officials say the suspect fled a traffic stop and then shot at officers.

No officers were hurt.
