Cherokee County burglary arrests
Murphy, NC (WDEF) – Several people were arrested for burglarizing a home in Cherokee County, North Carolina.
It happened last month at a home in the Ranger Community.
Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office say victim got lured away from the house by a bogus plea to help a disabled motorist.
That’s when a safe with a large amount of cash was taken, along with a gun.
Jerri Newsome, Olivia Whitmore, and Roger Coots from Ozark, Alabama got arrested hours later.
Michael Ethan Smith was finally arrested after avoiding capture for several weeks.
