Whitfield County Man Charged with Child Porn

Dalton (WDEF) Whitfield County detectives are investigating a cases of child porn that originated in Ohio.

According to the sheriff, this case actually started in Ohio where family members of 25 year old Rickey Schaffer say he took pornographic images of a child.

Those family members called the Whitfield county sheriff’s office and told them Schaffer was in Dalton.

When deputies searched his computer, they found pornographic images believed to have been taken by Schaffer while he was in Ohio.

Now they’re looking to see if any of the images involve children in this area.

He was charged with child porn and child exploitation.

He remains here on $20,000 bond.

But even he he makes bond, he’s going no where because there is a hold on him for police in Ohio.
