Glynn Academy vs. Dalton High School

Dalton, GA (WDEF) – In Georgia Friday night, Dalton needed to take care of business against Glynn Academy to advance to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs for the first time in ten years.

The Catamounts weren’t looking to get terrorized by the Terrors.

Early first quarter, Glynn quarterback DJ Dallas runs an option keeper, and he hits a little shake and bake and dashes along the sideline to put the Terrors in the red zone.

That setup a field goal to make it 3-0.

Late in the 1st, Catamounts in their own territory and running back Drake Mccowan loses the football and it’s recovered by Jonathan Handy.

Glynn Academy cashed in with a field goal to make it 6-0 after the turnover.

Catamounts back with the football late in the 2nd, when quarterback JP Tighe rolls out wide and finds Tyler Noland and he gets into Glynn territory.

Same drive, Tighe looks deep to find Kyric McGowan, and he is going to take it in to give the Catamounts a 7-6 lead.

The Terrors respond just before the half with the old hook and ladder play to Garrison Hurd, and he takes it all the way in to give Glynn a 13-7 lead.

Glynn Academy holds on to beat the Catamounts by a final of 20-13.
