Southeast Whitfield Football Player Charged with Assault & Kidnapping

Dalton (WDEF) A football player for Southeast Whitfield High has been charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping.

The alleged victim is a 19 year old female student at the school.

She told detectives that as she was leaving school Tuesday afternoon, Devin Fields jumped in her vehicle.

She says he made her drive him home.

But when they pulled up to the house, he put her car into park, and then picked her up and took her inside.

She says he threw her on the floor and ripped her pants off.

But she was able to fight him off and run home.

Police later recovered her pants at his home.
