Chattanooga man indicted on an attempted first degree murder charge

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – A man already awaiting trial on criminal charges that include assault and drug possession has now been charged with attempted first degree murder.

Trevon Williams, 22 was indicted by a Hamilton County Grand Jury on seven criminal charges that include attempted first degree murder and arson.

Court documents obtained by News 12 allege Williams attempted to murder Frederick Berry on June 29. Court documents also allege Williams committed arson on a structure in the 4800 block of Hillsdale Circle on the same day.

According to the indictment, Williams is also accused of inflicting bodily harm to a law enforcement officer.

Williams was already scheduled to go on trial for December 16 for a list of unrelated felonies.

His next court date for the new charges is scheduled for December 4.
