Mocs Offensive Linemen Love Thanksgiving Day
Chattanooga-(WDEF) Americans consume an average of 4,500 hundred calories on Thanksgiving day, which is what an offensive lineman might call ‘a light snack.’
Imagine the joy Mocs offensive linemen have on a day that celebrates a feast.
Nothing makes an offensive lineman smile like Thanksgiving day.
Said lineman Jacob Revis-"Thanksgiving is the prototypical O-lineman holiday. All you have to worry about is eating and sleeping."
Said lineman Hunter Townson-"It’s the one time of the year that everybody pigs out just like us. We love to go in. Pig out. Have fun. And just not get judged for it."
Might be hard for the Mocs offensive linemen to escape judgement when they go out to eat together once a week.
Said Revis-"Everybody kind of turns and looks at us. I think the waitresses get kind of nervous because they know they’re going to be bringing a lot of food and a lot of drinks."
Added lineman Corey Levin-"We’re all probably getting the biggest meal the restaurant offers. There are at least twelve of us there every time."
Quarterback Jacob Huesman gives us an eyewitness account of the culinary carnage.
"We all ordered the chicken tenders they’ve got there. One of the waitresses came out and said, do you want to know how many chicken tenders we just cooked for all of ya’ll? We said all right, let’s hear it. 100 chicken tenders."
Huesman says the linemen are considerate. They don’t tackle buffets.
"That’s probably too much. We shouldn’t do that. Jacob Revis would do some absolute damage at a buffet. I’ve seen the guy eat, and he can put it away."
Said Townson-"I know in Jacob Revis’ situation we always have a bet with one of our defensive linemen, who thinks he can out-eat Jacob Revis. We know that’s no way true what-so-ever."
What may be true is the chemistry and comradery that builds for the ‘Feastie Boys’.
Said Revis-"The better friends you are I think, the better you play together. We definitely have that bond."
Added Levin-"We just get away from football a little bit. Just enjoy a meal together. Just laugh and have a good time. It definitely helps with bonding."
