Cherokee County lawyer and his wife arrested for meth

Murphy, NC (WDEF) – A Murphy couple faces drug charges.

Cherokee County deputies investigated a report of people having meth Thursday.

They found local attorney 39-year-old Eric Winston Stiles and his wife 34-year-old Jillian Ashley Sloan Stiles unconscious in their vehicle.

Deputies found a significant quantity of meth and drug paraphernalia in the Stiles’ car.

The Stiles’ were arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Sell/Deliver, Possession of Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Vehicle. 

Bond was set at $10,000 for each of them.

They’re currently in the Cherokee County Detention Center.

Their next court date is December 16th.

Sheriff Palmer remarked “We continue to work and go after those who are illegally making, selling, using or possessing controlled substances in Cherokee County. We are not always sure where the road leads us but rest assured we will continue to travel down that road to rid our county of this menace.”
