Help for High School Football Team Mom

And an unsung hero helped make it possible.

Team Mom Pricilla Paschal-Murphy, or Momma Murphy, is the head coach’s right hand woman.

"During games, she takes up money at parking," said head coach Charles Fant. "I mean she’s everywhere. There could be a booth that we need to sell shirts, there’s Miss Murphy. Whatever needs to get done, Miss Murphy does it."

She makes meals for the entire team every Thursday night and makes pre-game sandwiches on Friday.

"She’ll come in on Saturday and she’ll wash all of our clothes, from the practice jerseys, the practice pants, and the game jerseys," Fant said.

And 80 pairs of dirty socks too!

Murphy’s son is a team captain on this Catholic high school football team.

The law says he cannot play on a scholarship so this single mom helps pay a small portion of his tuition through a program which allows her to work for the team.

"Since my kids have been here at Notre Dame, this is my family and you know I would go out of my way to do anything I could do, especially for the football team," Murphy said.

Murphy hasn’t had it easy.

Treated for a brain tumor last year and battling fibromyalgia which requires a double knee replacement has left her disabled.

Her 25-year-old Pontiac broke down and after friends saw her taking a cab to volunteer at the high school, they opened a Go Fund Me account to help the single mom out.

On Tuesday, News 12 showed her how much had been raised in less than a day.

"Do you know those names?"

"Yes," Murphy said as she looked through the names of donors.

"What are you thinking right now?"

"It’s hard to describe because what I do," Murphy said through tears, "Is not better than anybody else."

The famously humble team mom insisted she isn’t do anything special.

"It’s just what moms do. It’s just being a mom."
