Dade Discount Days

Dade County is now offering a way for you to do just that!

Dade Discount Days gives community members and people just passing through, the opportunity to save money and win prizes all while helping the community.

Nathan Wooten, a board member of the Greater Dade Business Owner’s Association said what initially sparked the concept was the desire to help small businesses.

"Trenton’s a small town. We don’t have major retail companies here. Most of out store are small and locally owned, so we kind of ganged up and said, let’s make a push to get people to shop local."

Wooten said they kicked the event off in a huge way.

"We’re giving away 99 cent per gallon gasoline to a hundred lucky shoppers.Our goal is to get everybody in the retail locations around Trenton. Get em’ registered."

Barbie Evans owns J.B.’s Variety Store said it’s word of mouth and knowing her customers is what keeps people shopping local.

"As a small business owner it’s very important because we rely on the local people and also them telling their friends, or whoever to come and shop with us so we can keep our business doors open."

Dade Discount Days runs through the entire month of December.

People can register to win gift cards, free gas, and services at local businesses in Dade County.
