1-75 Shuts Down: Fatal Accident Leaves One Dead
Cleveland, TN (WDEF) – One person has been confirmed dead by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), after the car they were driving crashed into a tractor trailer truck.
Lt. John Harmon, with THP, tells News 12 the incident happened shortly after 6:30 p.m., in Bradley County, on 1-75 at mile marker 24. Emergency responders were called on scene immediately.
I-75 lanes have been shut down going both north and southbound. Traffic is currently being redirected northbound from the 20 mile marker, and southbound from the 25 mile marker.
No other injuries have been reported, and the deceased has not been identified at this time.
According to Lt. Harmon, the highway could be shut down for another three hours.
