Wolftever Creek Elementary
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Wolftever Creek Elementary is getting a 7 million dollar renovation.
Hamilton County Commissioners approved the project after school leaders talked about overcrowding and growth at the school.
But it didn’t come without some opposition.
Commissioner Warren Mackey says there are already plenty of empty classrooms across the county.
He wants the School Board to re-zone the district to fill those schools.
But school leaders say Wolftever needs immediate help.
The majority of Commissioners agreed.
The school will use the money for an addition and for renovations.
Commissioners approved the lowest of 5 bids for the Ooltewah school.
It adds up to 7.425 million dollars.
