Cherokee Co. NC Arrests Car Thief Suspect After Weekend Chase
Sheriff Derrick Palmer identifies the suspect as 55 year old Richard Allan Cseh.
Deputies got a call in the early morning hours of a suspicious vehicle in the Marble Community.
They spotted the car on Palmer Lane, but it ran when they tried to stop it.
The chase ended on Pounding Mill Road.
Officers found that Cseh was driving a car that had been stolen in Macon County just that morning.
They also say they found a small amount of meth and drug paraphernalia.
Now he faces charges for the drugs, the stolen car, and the chase (in which a sheriff’s car was damaged by debris).
Sheriff Palmer stated “I want to compliment the vigilant officers of the Patrol Division for continuing the investigation until Cseh was apprehended. Cseh is no stranger to the court system here in Cherokee County and has little regard for the safety of the community or the law enforcement officers who work here. We continue to aggressively pursue and apprehend individuals who flaunt their lawlessness and appreciate our public who is joining in this fight.”
