17-year old and 19-year old charged with attempted first degree murder

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) – Two people are in custody in connection to a January 12th shooting that sent a juvenile to the hospital.

A 17-year old Juvenile and 19-year old Charles Melton are both facing multiple felonies including attempted first degree murder.

According to the arrest affidavit, the two were identified as suspects who took part in a drive-by shooting in the 1000 block of North Hickory Street.

A juvenile gunshot victim and another witness told police they were walking West on Portland Street when four males in a maroon Nissan sedan passed them while slowly heading eastbound. At some point, the same vehicle crept up besides them and shots were fired from the car.

The juvenile victim was struck in the forearm.

One of the suspects was identified by the name "Caution." Caution was later identified by police as a 17-year old.

The other suspect was identified as "Foe Face." He was later identified by police as Charles Melton.

Bond for the 17-year old was set at $170,000. He was also assigned a public defender. Melton’s bond was set at $75,000.
