Cleveland School Board picks Cathy Goodman as Interim Director of Schools

CLEVELAND, Tenn (WDEF) – The Cleveland City Schools Board of Education picked a short-term replacement for Dr. Martin Ringstaff early Monday morning.

The specially called meeting was to pick an Interim for the job after the board fired Ringstaff on Friday.

They chose Assistant Director of Schools, Cathy Goodman.

She also serves as Director of Personnel.

Goodman has 38 years of education experience and has worked in the Cleveland system since 2002.

“I am honored to serve Cleveland City Schools as the Interim Director of Schools. We have an excellent administrative team, and our top priority is the safety and education of our students. I am confident that the dedicated teachers, administrators, and staff of our system will continue the excellence that Cleveland expects” said Goodman.
