Grace Academy Volleyball Player Alexandra Smith Signs With Samford and Has Her Jersey Number Retired

Chattanooga-(WDEF) At Grace Academy, Alexandra Smith signed to play college volleyball at Samford in Birmingham.
She owns about all the school records at Grace.
After Smith signed her papers, the school surprised her by announcing that her number 14 jersey would be retired.
Needless to say, that caught Smith off guard.
She’s the first volleyball player at Grace to ever have her jersey number retired.
Said Smith:”I had no clue they were going to do this. So I had to check myself so I wouldn’t start crying so much. It means a lot that the school put so much faith and confidence in me. I can’t even express how like great it feels to know that my jersey is retired.”
