Man arrested after wielding ax in Nashville convenient store

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) —  Officials with Metro Nashville Police arrested a 53-year-old suspect after he was allegedly wielding an ax at customers at a Mapco convenience store on Murfreesboro Pike.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said they were called to the scene after witnesses said Jim Conaser approached them and began waving an ax.

After arriving at the scene, Polive were able to find Conaser at a nearby fire station where he had allegedly stolen the ax earlier in the day.

According to police, the incident started because Conaser said he was tired of people using his bathroom.

Conaser was taken to Davidson County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violation of the sex offender registry, 2nd offense.

At this time, he was not eligible for bond.
