Mocs Basketball Team Expects Another Showdown in SoCon Title Game
The Mocs basketball team will search for their first SoCon title since 2009 tonight, as they battle ETSU in the SoCon tournament finals in Asheville, North Carolina. Chattanooga advanced to the finals tonight after getting past Western Carolina on Sunday in the semifinals.
The Mocs led by only two in the final seconds when Eric Robertson hit two foul shots to seal a 71-67 victory.
Chattanooga’s two victories in the SoCon tournament have come by a combined nine points, and head coach Matt McCall expects more of the same on Monday evening.
Said McCall-“It’s March. It’s March. They’re all going to be close, and they’re all going to be tight. These guys came to Chattanooga for a reason. They came to Chattanooga to play in games like this. Play with a championship on the line.”
Chattanooga and ETSU tip at 9pm on Monday, and the game will be televised on ESPN2. The Mocs won both of the regular season matchups against the Bucs.
