Residents cleaning up after storms topple trees again

SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF) — Storms coming through our area are causing many trees to topple over.

Some just in yards, while others are doing more costly damage by landing on homes and vehicles.

Duane Blomberg, owner of Timberline Outdoors, and Hannes Dewet, owner of TreeWorks, have teamed up for this emergency call.

The tree fell over during a storm Saturday night and they’ve been at the house for most of Sunday.

When they’re done, it’s on to another home with a similar incident.

Something they’ve been dealing with frequently.

Blomberg says its a combination of conditions causing trees to go down.

“With the drought we had last year and the rains this year so much that the ground is so saturated I mean it’s just up rooting from the, from the bottom,” says Blomberg.

If you do spot a dead tree you may want to get a licensed and insured tree company to remove it – a way to prevent it from ending up on top of your home
