Ooltewah Rape Suspects In Court Today

SEVIERVILLE, TN, (WDEF)- Three Ooltewah High School students facing rape and assault charges will appear in court today.

According to the Sevier County District Attorney’s office, the three boys, two of them 16-years-old, and another who is 17, will appear in juvenile court at around 8:30 a.m. on Tueaday; the hearing is to determine if the teenagers should be tried as adults. 

The basketball players are accused of forcing a pool cue inside a fellow player’s body in December while attending a tournament. The boy reportedly suffered serious injury and had to undergo multiple surgeries to repair a ruptured colon and bladder. 

According to several media outlets, the DA’s office has been able to identify other victims who were not seriously harmed.
