Chattanooga Police arrest multiple armed gang members

Incident One:

After responding to a shot’s fired call, Chattanooga Police were able to apprehend several suspects hiding nearby.

CPD was dispatched to a shots fired call at 2300 Windsor street last last night. Upon arrival, an anonymous person advised police that they observed several males running into a vacant apartment after they heard the shots. Other Officers on scene advised that they could see several males peering through the windows of the apartment.

After making contact with the suspects, police detained seven men that were laying face-down on apartment floor.

Police searched the apartment and found a bag of cocaine and marijuana inside an air vent in the hallway, crack cocaine in the bathroom toilet, and marijuana in the bath tub.

When Police conducted a secondary search, a Glock 30 .45 caliber pistol loaded with seven rounds and a Smith and Wesson 40ve .40 caliber were found.

Two of the men, Marvin Cartwright and Greg Trice, said they owned the guns.

All parties besides Mr. Cartwright and Mr. Trice were released at that time.

Mr. Cartwright and Mr. Trice were charged with possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony, marijuana for resale, crack for resale, and cocaine.

Incident Two:

Chattanooga Police conducted a routine traffic stop of a white Jeep Patriot. After stopping the vehicle, officer were able to see the vehicle was occupied by three juveniles. Police searched the vehicle and found a Glock with a 30 round magazine. One juvenile was arrested for possession of the firearm, while another was arrested for driving without a license.

Incident Three:

Yesterday, Chattanooga Police responded to West 38th street on a call concerning three males shooting at each other.

Upom arrival, several witnesses gave descriptions of the suspects and one of the guns. The witnesses said that one of the suspects was shooting a semi automatic handgun with a laser on it and that it was in a black bag.

An officer was able to find one of the suspects near the scene and exited his patrol car to tell the suspect to stop. The suspect then turned and began to flee from the officer. Police chased the suspect and located him on a porch trying to catch his breath.

The suspect was taken into custody and the black bag was recovered. The bag contained a Green and Black 9mm handgun with a laser sight attached to it.
