Smoke alarm saves couple in East Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A smoke alarm alerted warned an East Chattanooga couple about a fire in their home Monday Night.

It happened around midnight at 3810 Deerfoot Drive.

The couple were able to get out of the home alive and call Chattanooga firefighters.

The fire seems to have started in the garage and spread to the home.

The couple lost their home and two cars.

The cause is under investigation.
