CFC Lose 2-0 to Charlotte Eagles in U.S. Open Cup
The CFC lost to the Charlotte Eagles of the Premier Development League 2-0 in the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night in Charlotte.
Match was scoreless in the first half.
Just past the 70th minute, and the Eagles Joao Costa fired a shot that hit the post, and then Kelvin Omondi knocked home the rebound to make it 1-0.
Charlotte later added another goal from Costa to produce the 2-0 final.
The U.S. Open Cup is the oldest soccer tournament in America.
The CFC will open league play on Saturday when they travel to New Orleans.
