Mocs Softball Season Comes to a Close After Two One-Run Losses in SoCon Tournament

Chattanooga-(WDEF) The UTC softball team saw their season come to an end after losing two one-run games in the SoCon tournament on Thursday at Frost Stadium.
ETSU beat Chattanooga 1-0, and then Samford won 9-8 on Thursday evening in an elimination game.
ETSU scored in the first inning against UTC, and they made the run stand as ETSU pitcher Madison Ogle threw a complete game one-hitter.
Plenty of fireworks in the night cap against Samford.
The Bulldogs scored 3 runs in the top of the third to go up 3-0.
Chattanooga answered in the bottom of the third with a 2 RBI base hit from Hayleigh Weissenbach.
In the top of the fourth Samford got a two-run homer to left from Kathryn Jackson to make it 5-2.
The Bulldogs stretched the lead to 9-2 before the Mocs Ashley Conner belted a grand slam in the fifth to make it a 9-6 ballgame.
Mocs got a run in the sixth to make it 9-7, and then Conner added a solo homer in the bottom of the 7th before the UTC rally came to an end.
