A bill has passed out of a House subcommittee this week that would indefinitely close public access to body camera footage related to excessive use of force or misconduct by police.
House Bill 876, as amended, would make such video confidential until the conclusion of any investigation and resulting disciplinary, administrative or judicial actions, which could take months or even years.
The House State Government Committee will take up the measure tomorrow, March 29th.
BlueCross BlueShield’s Tennessee Health Foundation is funding an effort to bring three new fitness zones to new Chattanooga community centers.
The Trust for Public Land will be responsible for executing the project.
2 local schools are participating in a new pilot garden program for K-5 students across Tennessee.
Tractor Supply Company’s “Dig it” program will provide a special curriculum to engage kids in hands on learning.
TSC awarded $500 dollar grants to 33 schools across the state.
That money helps the schools involved either start or sustain a school garden.
Grace Baptist Academy and Riceville Elm. Schools are the local participating institutions.
