Saban Not Ready to Call Alabama an Elite Team
Alabama head coach Nick Saban took part in a spring SEC teleconference on Monday with all of the other league football coaches.
The Tide has won the last three SEC Championships, and they’ll likely be favored to make it four straight this fall.
But as you would expect, Saban is not ready to hand out any high praise following the completion of spring practice.
Said Saban:”I said this after spring practice was over. I don’t think we are an elite team yet. Probably adequate, but we don’t want to settle for that. We’ve got a lot of things to improve on. We’ve got some big challenges early in the season playing against a team like Florida State. Don’t usually ever think we have an elite team coming out of spring practice. It’s sort of a work in progress to get where we want to be.”
