Nick Gordon Homers as Lookouts Beat Birmingham to Move Into First Place

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Nick Gordon hit a two-run home run and had two hits as the Chattanooga Lookouts topped the Birmingham Barons 4-1 on Tuesday.

Chattanooga went up 4-0 in the fourth after Gordon hit a two-run home run.

The Barons cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Mason Robbins hit an RBI single, scoring Eddy Alvarez.

Matt Tracy (3-3) got the win in relief while Birmingham starter Spencer Adams (1-6) took the loss in the Southern League game. Nick Burdi retired the side in order for his first save of the season.

Chattanooga is now 9-0 at home in the month of May.

The Lookouts are now tied with Tennessee for first place in the Southern League North Division Standings.
