Baylor Athlete Makayla Parker to Compete in Two Sports at Spring Fling

Chattanooga-(WDEF) Baylor freshman Makayla Packer could be the busiest athlete at Spring Fling next week in Murfreesboro.
Packer will be playing center field for the Lady Raiders softball team.
On top of that, she has qualified to run track at Spring Fling.
The speedy Packers is scheduled to compete in the 4×100 relays and the 200 meter races.
But in order for that to happen, the Baylor softball team will need to take care of business so Packer can shuttle from the softball field to the track.
Said Baylor softball coach Kelli Smith:”As long as we stay in the winner’s bracket in Murfreesboro, there’s a chance for her to compete in both. If not, then it’s going to get. We’ll have to cross that bridge when we get there.”(laughs)
Said Packer:”I’m challenging myself to do my best in all of my events. And when I’m at the bat, just do my best.”
Said Smith:”You know hopefully we can have her a police escort or something to get her where she needs to go. (laughs) Well I guess she could just run over. She’d probably get there faster. (laughs) Get a good warm-up and run over.”
