Chattanooga-based Water Plane Makes Hard Landing In Decatur, AL

A Chattanooga pilot landed his plane in the Tennessee River in Decatur on Thursday, according to our affiliate station WHNT.

The pilot, Peter Serodino and a passenger were on board, the CBS station reported.

Serodino was doing work for a utilities project in the area. Reports say that he was too low and had to land the plane in the water; the plane is able to land on the water.

The issue came in when the battery died.

The plane was towed to shore by police and the battery was charged so it could be flown back to Chattanooga.
