City of Chattanooga offering free leaf mulch

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga residents can now get free leaf mulch from the City of Chattanooga’s Wood Recycle Center, as long as the material is available.

The Wood Recycle Center is located on North Hawthorne Street is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

It’s also open Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

You need to provide a valid driver’s license proving you live within the city of Chattanooga to get the mulch for free. Non-city residents will be charged standard rates. Free mulch is limited to a standard-size pickup truck or single axle trailer.

Workers will load the mulch for you, and it must be covered before you leave the facility.
