Shooting near Food City Grocery store on Highway 58

UPDATE: Chattanooga Police locate white car involved in the shooting less than a couple of miles from the scene.

It is being towed.

UPDATE: Chattanooga are at a second location involved in the Highway 58 shooting.

They are investigating a home at 4600 Swan Road in the Washington Hills neighborhood.

Update: Chattanooga Police tell us that it started with a shootout among two people at the Captain D’s on Highway 58.

One of those bullets went across the highway and hit a metal poll.

It then ricocheted into the Food City building, then ricocheted again to hit a bystander behind the store.

The impact was so minor, that the victim wasn’t even treated or taken to the hospital.

Police say they have taken in two suspects for questioning.

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Chattanooga police are blanketing the Highway 58 area in response to a shooting near the Food City grocery store.

One victim was injured, but EMS descriptions made it sound like it was not a major wound.

Police have taken a suspect into custody.

They found him inside a house.

And they are now trying to recover the weapon used in the attack.
