Jackson Edges the Lookouts 3-2
(lookouts.com) CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Miller Diaz got Edgar Corcino to hit into a double play in the ninth inning, leading the Jackson Generals to a 3-2 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts on Thursday.
The double play came with runners on first and second and helped to prevent the Lookouts from scoring in the inning.
Up 1-0 in the fifth, Chattanooga extended its lead when Nick Gordon hit a solo home run.
Jackson answered in the top of the next frame, scoring three runs to take the lead for good. Kevin Cron hit a two-run single and Stewart Ijames hit an RBI double en route to the one-run lead.
Ivan Pineyro (4-0) got the win in relief while Randy LeBlanc (2-2) took the loss in the Southern League game.
Jonathan Rodriguez doubled and singled for the Lookouts. Ryan Walker singled twice, also stealing a base.
