UPDATE: Man shot on O’Neal Street in broad daylight identified

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) –  Chattanooga Police have identified the victim of the shooting as 40-year-old Shalonew Wingate.

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) Chattanooga Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting on Thursday in a neighborhood near Erlanger.

They got the call around 12:30 at 100 O’Neal Street.

The male victim is in critical condition.

The suspect got away on foot.

Police spokesman Victor Miller briefed the media on what they know about the case.
