Expectation Questions Surround the Vols at SEC Media Days

Hoover, AL-(WDEF) This is the time of year where hope springs eternal in college football land.
Monday marked the start of SEC Media Days, and after failing to reach last year’s lofty expectations, the Vols came to Hoover, Alabama, with a renewed confidence.
But some football analysts aren’t buying the talk and want to see the results
Said SEC Network host Paul Finebaum,”I think most important with Butch, it’s not what he says here, it is what his team says on the football field.
I think last year there were some real opportunities, but in the end, they were missed because Tennessee had a chance to go to Atlanta last year, and they let it get away “.
As we head into the home stretch before the season, the big question still surrounding the Vols is who will be under center when they take on Georgia Tech to start the season
Said offensive lineman Jashon Robertson,”The quarterback position we have two guys who are working their tails off to earn their spot, and so from my perspective, I’m a guy who is just up there. My job is to block for them. Not to pick them. My job is to block, so regardless to who it is, I am going to do the best that I can to my ability to protect those guys, and the other guys on the field will also do the same thing ”
The job of filling that quarterback role may even come down to more than just one guy.
Said head coach Butch Jones,”Both are very capable. Both are very good football players. And again, if they earn the right to play, they both deserve to play. We believe in both of them greatly.”
Even with the question marks at quarterback, UT is still focused squarely in the now.
Said Robertson:”I don’t know what time it is, but what ever workout group is working out, they need to focus on winning this day.”
