Cascades Motel robbery suspect crashes in Chattanooga after chase

EAST RIDGE, Tennessee (WDEF) A robbery at the Cascades Motel Wednesday morning turned into a pursuit and crash into East Chattanooga.

An East Ridge officer was passing by the Motel on Ringgold Road just as the robbery call came in before 8 AM.

He spotted a suspected robber and pursued him.

The suspect fled through the Bachman tunnels, hit a car and then overturned.

The suspect then got away on foot.

But he left the money and a handgun behind in the wrecked car.

East Ridge police say they have multiple leads on the suspect.
