Tony Davis says the Real Story begins after the violent Video ends

BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – A Bradley County Sheriff’s deputy accused of using excessive force on a restrained inmate was criminally cleared after a grand jury decided not to indict him last month.

News 12 spoke with Tony Davis, the man involved in the incident, who says the real story begins after the video ends.

In order to allow Mr. Davis to tell the story in his own words below is a brief transcript of the interview.

“They did something wrong. if they are wrong, they are wrong. You know, and they was wrong. All of them was wrong and what they only see if what officer desk did that is not the story. The story happened when I was in the cell after the fact. You know, and I was getting beat up and stomped on by 4 of them. It wasn’t a video. Actually, it was after the fact. I got put in a holding cell where the inmates go and uh they stomped me pretty good and drug me down the hall and after that they took me about an hour later. I went to the hospital and had butterfly stitches all in my head and the thing that bothers me the most is when I was sitting there getting beat up and I asked that man just as plain as day. I asked that man. I said I want to speak to somebody besides you because we was both hot headed right then you know what I mean. I want to speak to someone and he said there was nobody else above him and I didn’t think that was right ….I don’t think they should have their jobs, especially the sergeant you know. The sergeant, I don’t think he should have his job and as far as what the outcome is, I hope it just make it right you know, but as far as that one, that is the only thing that bothers me the most is when he said there was nobody above him and that bothers me and it ain’t no religious thing or nothing like that. It is just we are all human beings we put our pants on the same way and you ain’t no better than me man.”
