News 12 Then: Tiffany Trump’s North Georgia Roots from Mom, Marla Maples
CLEVELAND, Ohio (WDEF) In the political world, Donald Trump, Eric Trump, Mike Pence and even Ted Cruz were the stars from this week’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
But in the pop culture world, Donald’s youngest daughter, Tiffany, was a big winner.
The 22 year old spoke at the convention about her dad and created quite a frenzy on social media.
Thank you to everyone who watched my speech last night! #gopconvention #RNCinCLE looking forward… https://t.co/bfX4PJydDj

But she isn’t a sibling of the current Trump kids.
She is the daughter from his second marriage to Whitfield County’s own Marla Maples.
Marla was the only Trump wife who didn’t take the stage in Cleveland.
But (despite plenty of internet speculation to the contrary) she was backstage to cheer on Tiffany.
Check out the quick video she took before her daughter’s speech.

But now that Tiffany has become a national celebrity, we wanted to remind her of her north Georgia roots.
We cut together several of the stories we aired in 1990-91.
They trace Marla’s move to New York from the Dalton area to break into acting.
Then came the rumors about her and Donald, then the Trump divorce, and finally his first official visit to Dalton with Marla in October of 1991 for a Northwest Whitfield homecoming game.
