Ooltewah names new head basketball coach

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) – Ooltewah named its new head basketball coach Wednesday.

Athletic Director Brad Jackson confirmed to News12 Now that Jay Williams will take over the position this season.

That’s after former coach Andre “Tank” Montgomery was suspended following the player rape scandal in Gatlinburg this past December.

Williams has coached at both Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School and in Lafayette.

He is an Ooltewah native who attended Ooltewah High.
