Child dies in tragic accidental drowning

MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) – A 2-year-old has died in tragic accidental drowning.

The McMinn County Sheriff said authorities responded to the drowning around 7:15 Friday night at a home on County Road 854.

Authorities said the child had wandered off and was found in the family’s pool.

The child was taken to a local hospital and later died.
