Titans Defense Wants to Turn Nashville Into Smashville Like NHL Predators
The pads went on at Titans training camp on Monday.
Tennessee hopes to get physical on defense and toughen up a unit that that allowed 26 points a game last year, which ranked 27th in the NFL for points allowed per game.
The Titans wouldn’t mind living up to the moniker of their neighboring NHL buddies, the Nashville Predators, who refer to the Music City as Smashville.
Said linebacker Wesley Woodyard,”In order to be a dominant defense, you have to play smash-mouth. This whole off-season, we got the chance to watch the Predators play. That’s something Coach Mularkey really loved. I think that’s the attitude. If you want to be successful and get in the playoffs, that’s the attitude and approach you need to have.”
