Undercover TBI Agent killed when drug deal goes wrong
JACKSON, Tennessee (WDEF) – Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have charged a man with shooting one of their undercover officers in West Tennessee on Tuesday.
Special Agent De’Greaun Frazier was part of the team working an undercover drug buy in Brianfield Cove near Jackson.
It was a controlled buy of drugs inside a car.
But instead of selling them the drugs, the suspect tried to hold up the undercover officer and an informant.
The TBI says that fired two shots and one hit agent Frazier, killing him.
Burns fled the scene but was captured in nearby Tinker Hill Cove.
They charged him Wednesday morning with one count of Murder in the Perpetration of Attempted Aggravated Robbery.
