Ringgold Couple Says They’re Waffle House’s #1 Fan

RINGGOLD, GA (WDEF) – The term "one of the regulars" takes on a whole new meaning once you meet Johnny Maxwell.

"We come everyday, 365 days a year," according to Johnny.

Johnny says he has only missed about 20 days in the last 30 years.

That means hes eaten more than 10,000 Waffle House meals in his lifetime.

Johnny adds, "I get tired of laying around like a sick cat, so I’ve got this place to rely on."

You can usually spot Johnny here with his wife, Maxie, but due to medical reasons, she’s bedridden.

But don’t worry, we caught up with her by phone to ask her why she loves Waffle House so much.

Maxie says, "There’s so many reasons, more than a thousand.  They’re like a family to us really."

And it’s that family that made him look at a particular contest.

If you get the most "likes" on Facebook, the Waffle House food truck will swing by and feed 100 of their friends waffles and hashbrowns.

Johnny adds, "That would be cool to me. I’d like to have my camera ready and do photos."

And those photos would probably end up in Johnny’s very own waffle house booth that he set up in his own kitchen.

Johnny adds, "That’s one of my prized menus."

We asked resident, Judy Hodge, if she can you think of a bigger fan than Johnny?

She says, "No."

And that might be why Johnny is winning the contest by a landslide.

It’s a perfect ending for a man who, believe it or not, never gets sick of the food.
